Calendar Spiritwalk Activities for July, 1998
Spiritwalk Study This month we will continue our study of Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching. Prayer and Healing Requests Spiritwalk member, Diane S. has requested your prayers and healing energy for her friend who was recently diagnosed with prostatic cancer. His name is Paul LeVasseur (age about 50) from Fairfield, CT. She states that this is "especially poignant, since he's a newlywed with a baby." Please send Prayers for him and his entire family. Why not take a little break right here, now.[June 25, 1998] We are again planning to form new Spiritwalk Groups in Woodland Hills & Sherman Oaks, CA. These groups will ultimately be limited to 7 participants and probably starting Mid-September. Please call Roger for details. 818-999-2922. E-mail request for information. Spiritwalk has been accepted as an associate of Amazon.com. You may order books through Spiritwalk and Amazon will share the proceeds with our organization. New books are added every week and every month we feature a few Spiritwalk Recommended Books. The selections for this month focus on "enlightenment" and are by Swami Beyondananda and Lama Surya Das. Now, it gets even better. There is a now Music Section at Spiritwalk Books, etc. We have loaded on a variety of about 50 top notch selections so far.The musical selections for the month are the music we most frequently use in meditations at the Spiritwalk groups. Be sure to check out the bookstore.

Roger's Note FYI: You might want to check out this month's (July-August) Utne reader which has interesting articles on eclectic spirituality~pro and con~and an interview with philosopher Ken Wilbur. Also worth a look is the current issue of Self magazine which has a cover feature on Yoga practices. I have had great fun meeting new Spiritwalk friends over the internet. Swami Beyondananda has given us permission to post one of his articles: Drive Your Karma, Curb Your Dogma. He has his tapes for sale and a good package deal for 3 tapes. Another new friend, Spiritual teacher Rob Campbell who resides in Aloha-land, has an excellent website called on the road to REMEMBERING...Who and What we really are. Great title and lots of good stuff here, including some original poetry. Check out What's New at Spiritwalk to get up to date with the WebSite. The activity level is up about 40% this month. The Spiritwalk list has grown by about 25% this month. The SpiritTalk discussion list got active for a couple weeks, but has been inactive the last several days. All in all, I think we're doing alright considering that July 4 is the anniversary of the first feeble attempt to put up a website. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday. p.s.
